Look: i don’t care if you haven’t had a close friend or family member die in a war, but some of us have. And some of us don’t appreciate you blowing off memorial day as a day to get drunk. Some of us being me. >:(
and if a Vet wishes to get drunk on toasts to his fallen buddies and try to forget the horrors of war… I say GO FOR IT!
Well good for him. i hope he enjoys it. however, lots of other people actually want to have moments of silence or something to remember the fallen soldiers, and that probably takes the majority
I was nearly killed on Memorial Day, 5 yrs ago…all because some a$$hole confused remembering our fallen heroes with “Let’s get sh*tfaced, WOO HOO!!!” (and get behind the wheel of a vehicle, drive it down the wrong side of the road, hit innocent motorist head on etc. etc…) THANK YOU for pointing out the fact that Memorial Day does not = National Sh*tfaced Day…
