Gahh, I hate Sandra Lee! Loved the intermittent “Lush” inserted into “cocktail time!” That woman sure loves her vodka, doesn’t she? I hate it when people say “expresso”, it makes me want to slap them! And to think she went to Le Corden Bleu! Blasphemy! Commercial mushroom (ie: every mushroom you buy at a grocery store) are grown in feces. Additionally, depending on where they’re grown (I’m looking at you, Mexico), it’s even possible that human feces is in the mix (look at the E. Coli in spinach and lettuce a few years back). Feces is the number one source of most food-borne illnesses.

So playing food snob with store-bought mushrooms is stupid at best, dangerous at worse. Mushrooms SHOULD be rinsed, particularly if you intend to eat them raw.
