  2. lillace28 says:

Agreed, but it does bring out the “Meaning of Christmas”

I think its waaaaaaaaaay to creepy to be a christmas movie… my vote goes to halloween.

i think so too but it does have some kind of Christmas themed moral. i mean it has more purpose than to just scare little kids, you know? hmmmm…
i think its a hallowmas movie

  4. Natalie says:

    Christmas, duh.

  5. Lilbug121 says:

Both! It takes place mostly in Halloween Town, but Christmas is in the title, and without Christmas Town there is no plot. And I believe there is no wrong time for Tim Burton.

  6. WorrierPrincess says:

    Yes.

  7. 10doctortardis says:

I agree with Cato_Girl, I always watch it on Halloween and Christmas Eve every year, it can be enjoyed at both times of the year :D

  8. annonymouse says:

    Well, it IS both.
It’s a Halloween movie in reference to the design of the characters, the music in the beginning, and definitely the presents Jack tried to give out.
However, some of the music, the meaning of the movie, and the lessons learned all seem to apply to Christmas.
It is to both of those holidays what candy is to Halloween and Easter.

  9. Kystar says:

    Both.

I call it my “transition” movie. Halloween’s a big deal b/c I work at the local amusement park’s haunted stuff all through October…so, it’s my way of putting Halloween back in its box and getting ready to face Christmas.

  10. Meg says:

It’s both, no question… At least for me. I start watching it October 1 and watch it randomly until Christmas. Love it!

  11. Dierdre says:

Let’s split the difference and call it a Thanksgiving movie.

  12. AlixeTiir says:

    It’s for Hallochristweenmas.

  13. YingYang says:

Christmas! Because the characters are too friendly to be for Halloween! Besides, Jack Skellington looks good in a Santa suit!

  14. Wafflejesus says:

    Shouldn’t this be a poll?

  15. samantha says:

the design is great soo lifelike. Hallochristweenmas

  16. Tim_Burton_lover! says:

Ah, I believe that this is one of the many questions that are hard to figure out (kinda like the chicken or egg thing). I think we should go to the source and find Tim Burton and tie him up until he gives us the answer. The again it’s Tim Burton, he is full of crazy stuff.

  17. Abz says:

Hear, Hear! Hallochristweenmas. I really like the sound of that… ;)

  18. Trystan says:

it’s for anytime of the year…. i’d even watch it in March! =)

  19. Anneka says:

I think the whole point in that movie was to bring together two completely different holidays and make it appropriate for any time of year.

  20. Kariachi says:

Both. You watch in in October for Halloween. Then December for Christmas. Then once again for Christmas In July.

  21. mcolsen says:

I saw it both during Halloween and Christmas, and while I feel you can watch it at both times of the year, I think it’s more of a Halloween movie. It made me feel super Halloween-y and not very Christmas-y.

  22. Bb says:

it’s a Thanksgiving movie! right in between the 2.

  23. 7 says:

omg his is my favourite filmit shudnt just be for halloween or christas it shud be on all year round

  24. 42 says:

    Both!!! Love the cupcakes!

  25. Lillith says:

It’s a “OMG, I wish I lived there!” movie. Nuff said.

  26. Ankooh says:

it’s both! Duh. it’s also for whenever you want to watch it.

  27. tbd says:

i dont care if it is a good movie (which it is)
    its still fu**ed up

  28. blueashke says:

I actually only saw it for the first time this year (sheltered childhood followed by years of uber-religious roommates). I vote both!

  29. kfmkdgnfgkjnfg says:

It’s Tim Burton time all year round. But for the sake of this debate, the fact that it has Christmas in its title makes it a Christmas movie. Even Tim Burton needed a Christmas special!!!!

  30. kitty says:

i agree that it is a all around year movie cause tim burton is too freaking awsome for just one holiday!!!…free hug?

  31. memewizard says:

WELL it came into theaters on oct. 9th, and i think of it more of a halloween movie, but they show it on tv near christmas. does not matter to me, i watch it all year long. once i watched every day for a month.

  32. Rico says:

EASTER. It’s definitely an EASTER movie.

Nah, seriously? I’d say slightly more Halloween than Christmas but good for both, I would more than happily watch it twice a year.
