kebab are Mediterranean, carlsberg comes from Denmark, Heinz is from the US
I wouldn’t call noodles British either..
Oh and kebab isn’t Mediterranean, it’s more Arabic.
What famous Sea do Syrians, Lebanese, Egyptians, Libyans, Tunisians, Algerians, and Moroccans live near? Count the Turks too, even though they are not Arabs, they share a similar culture.
Give up?
But “pot noodle”(brand name i think) are and they are probably the worst quality ramen ever.
the spam is from the US too, haggis and deep fried mars bars are more scottish but oh well .. and our pies are damn good
‘British’ includes ‘Scottish’….
)
Deep fried Mars bar is delicious by the way (tastes like a crepe with loads of nutella
I know right!!!!!!!! Why the heck is Deep Fried Mars Bars on here!!!!!!!! Its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!
Ah, Yes, “Barr’s Iron Brew – Your *Other* National Drink”. Fond memories of those commercials, from back when I was across the pond back in ’80.
Thanks for stirring up some good recollections.
I like mooshy pays.
Never had Irn Bru as I recall, but D&B (aka “Dandelion and Burdock,” a truly *weird*-flavoured pop — and I say this as a resident of the country that produces spruce beer) is right up there. My English friend was quite disappointed when I told him that D&B tastes rather like old-timey homemade root beer.
And not forgetting, the lazy cliche about UK food.
Thanks Gemma Correll, you are a douche.
Baked Beans are sooooo good!!!
SPAM is precisely from Hormel in Austin, Minnesota. just saying. But, the Nom is pretty much the same sort of thing as the worst of American Cuisine. They aren’t talking about the true origins, but the way the common human of the area eats.
Seriously? How the hell did Marmite stay off that list?
That’s what I come to say. Oh, and that I actually do like haggis, although what we get over here in the States is a bit less …. offal.
totally British a full mish-mash of foreign inspired food, it’s what we do best, get invaded, assimilate, invade assimilate further.
I like haggis. I like Irn Bru.
I don’t think many Scots people have eaten deep fried Mars bar – it seems to be mostly sold in the kind of places frequented by American tourists, but she missed out the “deep fried Irn Bru butterballs”
Deep fried Mars bar is quite popular in Scotland – it’s lovely.
Deep fried Irn Bru is not – and will hopefully never catch up
Hey, what’s wrong with bakes beans?!
Seeing as a lot of those products aren’t British in origin, I’m surprised some awful kind of tea isn’t on there. We like our tea!
A good Kebab made from lamb and/or chicken, and not the weird boneless cylinder of offcuts and fat (that you get here in the UK) is one of the best quick meals going.
Also all lager does not come with at least a modicum of contempt, try Budvar (www.budweiserbudvar.co.uk) the original bud… or Becks, or Leffe Blond which is a Weißbier (vise-beer or white beer), after several of which, all kebabs are perfect
wheres the marmite of barfingness?
Way back when in ’06, my high school philharmonic class, consisting of some 60 students, took a trip to Scotland. While there, we drank NOTHING BUT IRN-BRU. It was common to keep drinking until the urine ran clear, then keep drinking. Oh, ye flipping gods, it was divine.
Now I’m in Afghanistan. My parents, being the closest things I know to true deities, have managed to send me 2 12-packs of Irn-Bru. The opinion is pretty consistent, it’s about the tastiest thing we’ve had the pleasure to drink out here.
And for those of you unfamiliar with this glorious nectar, I think the closest description I can give is that it’s a kinda orange+cream/vanilla flavor. Creamsicle soda, I guess.
Meh: british people might have disgusting food, but at least they are hard working…
French and italian people might have delicious food, but they are lazy and loud
trololol
France has a higher productivity than UK :
“(US$ produced per hour per worker ):
France : 56.6
UK : 42.0″
Trololol.
It’s probably not ‘SPAM’, it’s Corned Beef, which is more popular in Britain. It’s origins are Ancient Europe, and It’s Nommy. Anyway, British chocolate is better… You can’t beat a Dairy Milk mmmmm
What? Deep fried mars bar, pies, and baked beans are some of the best culinary creations, whoever made this clearly has a taste for crappy American food, and although Marmite isn’t actually on the picture, it was talked about in comments, and its a wonderful spread, and quite healthy for you, its best served with peanut butter on hot toast, and not the crappy sweet American peanut butter, thats just wrong, its not supposed to be sweet.
